Two Generous Contributors

Three weeks ago, Mr. Eric Lim arranged a bountiful donation from Goodhill Enterprise (Cambodia) Ltd., consisting of 200 boxes of rice crackers, 400 boxes of yogurt drinks, and 80 boxes of instant coffee. Goodhill is a well-established distribution company in Cambodia, recognized for managing a wide range of international consumer brands, particularly in the food and beverage sector.

We first met Mr. Eric Lim about four years ago, and we are truly grateful that he reached out to us with this thoughtful gift. Contributions like this provide practical, tangible support, not only to the children at Little Hearts but also the wider community we serve. Indeed, several groups have already benefited:

  • English program: Community students attending our free English classes are currently enjoying the snacks and drinks.
  • Community sharing: We have been able to distribute a portion of the items to our neighbors.
  • Feeding program: A significant portion has been set aside to support our Feeding Program Project this coming May, helping us prepare for this important initiative with greater confidence.

Thank you, Eric and the team at Goodhill Enterprise, for your big-hearted contribution. It is both timely and impactful—it supports our current students while also giving us a strong start for the Feeding Program. (Stay tuned for more information about this project, which will launch soon.)

Recently we also welcomed Dara Vutey, a national athlete representing the Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Cambodia (JJFC), though she’s currently based in France. She reached out to our community to share her support and encouragement.

In France, Dara is involved with the AOKAS project (founded by the NGO Inclusive Cambodia), an initiative that supports children with disabilities and those from at-risk backgrounds through Jiu-Jitsu, helping them work toward becoming professional athletes.

Dara visited us on April 8th, bringing a large donation of goods, including rice and other staples, drinks and cookies for the kids, and hygiene supplies, enough to cover our needs for two months! During her visit, she spent time in the children’s classrooms and saw their creativity—an experience that resonated strongly with her.

She also shared how she first learned about Little Hearts: “It was the director of the AOKAS project, Oliver King, who told me about Little Hearts. Since I was born in Cambodia, I wanted to be able to help children who are in the same situation I was once in.”

“When I visited the children’s classrooms, it touched me deeply because I saw myself in them,” Dara added. “I saw the same beginning of life. If my help leads them to a better future, then I will do my best to make that possible.”

Her support has continued beyond the visit, with another delivery of goods arriving last week. We are grateful for her commitment and her willingness to support children who share a background similar to her own.

Having a role model like Dara connect with our children in such a genuine way is meaningful for all of us. Her journey shows what is possible with determination and support.

Thank you, Dara, for your kindness and for sharing your story. We are happy to have you as part of the Little Hearts family and look forward to staying connected.
