More Than Meals: Our Third Feeding Program

If there’s one word to describe the third iteration of our Feeding Program, it’s growth.

When we first started this initiative, our goal was simple: to ensure the children in our local community receive nourishing meals, a safe space to gather, and a day filled with joy. But this time around, the energy was higher, the crowd was bigger, and the impact felt deeper than ever. If you followed our first and second Feeding Programs, you know how much heart goes into these events, but for our third round, we levelled up!

A Growing Community

We were thrilled to welcome 70 children this time—up from 50 in our previous sessions. Seeing our campus filled with even more eager faces and bright smiles was the ultimate reminder of why we do what we do.

To make the day even more dynamic, we split the event into two core challenges that tested both mental spark and physical teamwork. First was The Reading & Spelling Competition, where all participants were students from our Free English Community Program. We wanted to see how far they’ve come, so we put their daily lessons to the test with a practical challenge.

“We are so happy and proud as their teachers. To watch these kids go from knowing zero English to confidently reading and spelling everyday words—words they can actually use in daily life—is just incredible.” — Teacher Panha

Next came the physical energy with the Ultimate 5-Game Relay Race. We split the kids into four teams, led by our own Little Hearts kids—Vandeth, Ben, Michael, and Dara—alongside one of our Belgian visitors, Jack. The teams raced through five different obstacle games, competing for the fastest finish time. Beyond the race itself, the highlight was watching the Little Hearts kids step up as natural leaders. They guided the community children, cheered them on, and kept their spirits high. This program isn’t just serving our beneficiaries; it is actively shaping our own youth into confident, compassionate leaders.

Special Friends & Dedicated Sponsors

We were blessed to run this third program alongside long-time friends and supporters from Belgium who happened to be visiting Little Hearts: Tineke, Monique, Gerrit (known to the kids as ‘Papa Jack’), and his son Jack. They jumped right into the action! Tineke and Monique helped facilitate the reading and spelling competition, while Papa Jack took charge of the relay race. On top of their time and energy, they brought T-shirts all the way from Belgium and a generous supply of pens courtesy of Euro Rent, one of our long-time, regular sponsors.

An event like this requires many hands, and we are deeply grateful to GoodHill Enterprise (Cambodia) Ltd. for once again donating food and drinks that we used as both snacks and lunch. Their support was so generous that we were able to share extra supplies with families in our neighborhood and our own kids and staff.

We also want to say thank you to our kids and staff who worked non-stop—from helping in the kitchen and cooking meals to facilitating the games and looking out for the younger children—and for all the behind-the-scenes prep and endless dedication that made this day run seamlessly.

Keeping the Momentum Going

Our feeding programs are more than just a single meal—they are a platform for learning, leadership, and connection. As our community of children grows, our commitment to supporting them grows too.

If you would like to partner with us, sponsor a future session, or support our ongoing community programs, we warmly invite you to join our journey. Together, we can keep these vital events running and continue making a tangible difference in these children’s lives.

Thank you to everyone who made our third Feeding Program a roaring success!
