On November 23rd, Team Belgium will host a quiz night at Hangar 27 in Antwerp to benefit Little Hearts. It will be the third time that the event has been held. As before, all proceeds will go directly to Little Hearts’ general budget to help support the schooling and daily needs of our children.
Quiz night was the brainchild of Celine Van Glabeke, a longtime supporter and member of Team Belgium. This year, the event will be bigger than ever, featuring up to 40 teams, each team consisting of 4-6 players.
The quiz will test their general knowledge and quick thinking in 10 rounds of 10 questions each. Every round will have its own theme or topic, such as Music, History, Film, and Sports. As in the past, there will be a roundabout Cambodia, with questions like ‘what is the national dish of Cambodia’ and ‘how many Olympic medals has Cambodia won’. And, of course, a round focusing on Little Hearts, written by the kids themselves. So, competitors should start doing some research on Little Hearts right now!
Once again there will also be a ‘doing‘ round in which competing teams must participate in an activity (usually something silly) in order to earn points. The last time, players had to guess the flavour of cookies that had been crumbled up. The activity for this year’s ‘doing’ round is being kept top secret till the day of the quiz to ensure nobody has an edge!
The top five teams at the end of the game will receive prizes, as will the 13th-placed team and the team that comes in dead last, so even those who don’t know anything have something to fight for!
Doesn’t that sound like a load of fun?! If you will be anywhere near Antwerp on November 23rd, start organizing your team right now! Players of all ages and from all walks of life are welcome. The only requirement is a desire to help Little Hearts.
And if you’re not much of a gamer, remember that there’ll be plenty of refreshing drinks and tasty snacks available at Hangar 27 that night. Teams can order food and drink throughout the game as well as afterwards, with our wonderful volunteers acting as waiters and waitresses.
