Today we’d like to introduce our hard-working gardener, Martini.
In fact, Martini has been at Little Hearts for some time. He started working as an occasional daily labourer in mid-2023, mostly helping Billy, our handyman and groundskeeper, with a variety of tasks. From the beginning, it was clear that he was very industrious and wanted to work on a regular basis. Eventually, his punctuality, work spirit and positive mindset impressed Tony so much that he was awarded a contract to work every day for half the day.
His daily routine includes emptying and cleaning the trash bins, watering the plants, maintaining both front and back gardens, mowing the lawn and taking care of our vegetable patch.
After his morning work at Little Hearts, Martini spends his afternoons doing various jobs as a handyman and a carpenter. He’s a bit of a workaholic because he wants to provide adequately for his family – he has two children, a boy in Grade 9 and a six-year-old girl.
Since Martini works at Little Hearts mostly in the morning, while our kids are away at school, he rarely see or interacts with them, but knowing that he is contributing to their welfare gives him a sense of great fulfilment, he says. And he gets along very well with all other members of our staff.
