Christmas Carols with SGCIS

On Saturday, 14 December, Little Hearts benefited from the last fundraising event of 2024, with help from the charming children of the Singapore Global Community International School (SGCIS), a new international school in south Phnom Penh. The event was held at The Factory, a creative hub and events space not far from the school.

Titled ‘The Journey’, it was a Christmas musical in which the SGCIS children – all of them adorable kindergarteners – sang Christmas carols like ‘Feliz Navidad’ and ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ and other favourites like ‘Stand by Me’ and ‘Three Little Birds’. There were also skits, dancing, and poem recitals, and ten Little Hearts kids joined in by performing a traditional Cambodian dance known as Robam Ken.

All proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Little Hearts. During the concert, Ilay and Malee also set up a stand where we sold paintings and postcards created by Little Hearts art students.

A big thank you to SGCIS’s director, David Yeo, for organizing the event and, once again, to our stellar benefactor, Yennie, whose daughter attends SGCIS and who first invited the director to our art auction a few months ago, where he became acquainted with Little Hearts and decided to support us.
