Michael’s First Exhibition

During last week’s Khmer New Year celebration, the Royal University of Fine Arts in Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh, held an art exhibition showcasing the creativity of its students. Among them was our very own Michael, who, as you may remember, is one of Little Hearts’ standout young artists. Michael is now a first-year student in Graphic Design, and this was his very first school art project and public exhibition.

Michael, along with his classmates from Graphic Design, created a striking artwork that combined traditional Khmer culture with bold, modern colour techniques. Despite having only one month to finish while juggling other class assignments, the group managed to complete the piece in just three weeks. ‘It was tough,’ they admitted. ‘On some days, we had to sleep at school to get everything done in time.’

But their dedication went well beyond their own project: Michael and his classmates also helped prepare the entire exhibition space, assisting with putting up displays and organising the venue. It was an impressive team effort that brought together several different departments, including Interior Design, Architecture, Sculpture, Dance, Music and Graphic Design.

This event marks a meaningful milestone in Michael’s creative journey, and we couldn’t be prouder of the passion, talent and dedication that he and his peers demonstrated. Well done!
