Two Extraordinary Friends and Supporters

Today, we would like to shine a warm spotlight on our dear friends and loyal sponsors, Kathleen and Edouard (Ward) Van Canneyt.

Tony has known them for many years; they, too, come from Belgium. Ward is the owner of 7FTD Co. Ltd., a company that manufactures electricity poles and foundation piles. Even though they don’t live in Cambodia, Ward travels here about four times a year for work. On every one of his trips, he makes time to visit Little Hearts.

And here’s the beautiful part: every time they come to Little Hearts, Kathleen and Ward bring not one but several suitcases filled with useful items for our children, like shoes, clothes, and many other essentials.

Their generosity reaches well beyond Little Hearts. Kathleen and Ward have been supporting other organizations for years, including Shanty Town Spirit Association, which provides vital support to vulnerable families and children, and Light of Mercy Home, a home and learning center for children with disabilities.

They both have such big hearts, humble spirits, and a deep commitment to helping others. They don’t just talk about making a difference, they truly live it. And in today’s world, that is something very special.

Last week, it was wonderful to welcome them back to Little Hearts, together with their friends Patricia and Freddy, who also visited and supported us during their stay.

And through Kathleen and Ward, another group of their friends generously donated five new bicycles and brought brand-new helmets for all the children, a gift that brought so much joy. We appreciate every act of kindness more than words can express.

Thank you, Kathleen and Ward. Little Hearts will always be your home, and you will forever have a place in our family.
